What to Expect at Your Newborn Session with Andrena Martine:
Welcoming your sweet little one is one of life’s most special moments, and I’m truly honored to help you capture it.
The experience begins with your initial inquiry. From there, you’ll choose your preferred package and select a pre-payment plan that works best for your family. A retainer is collected and your contract is signed—then you’re officially booked! If we’re still waiting on baby’s arrival, your session will be scheduled as TBD. Once baby arrives, I’ll get you on the calendar right away.
On session day, everything is designed to be calm, comfortable, and baby-led. I never rush. We follow your baby’s cues, taking breaks as needed for feeding, changing, or cuddles to keep everyone relaxed. My goal is to create a peaceful environment where you can enjoy the moment while I capture soft, timeless images you'll treasure forever.
Baby safety is always my top priority. Every pose and setup is carefully chosen to be safe, supportive, and soothing. Your little one is never left unattended, and I handle each moment with care and attention.
You’ll receive a sneak peek within 48 hours, and your final gallery will be delivered within 3–4 weeks after your session date. Once final gallery is delivered, you will then be able to download your digital images.
Do I need to provide anything for the newborn session:
To make your experience seamless, I provide everything needed for these studio sessions—props, outfits, wraps, and accessories—so you don’t have to worry about bringing anything other than baby's feeding/ changing items. For family sessions I do have a client closet available for mom if needed. I will also send out outfit inspiration for your session as well as send links to make sure the family attire stays cohesive.

When should I book a Newborn Session?
Newborn sessions are best booked in advance, when client is roughly 30 weeks along. However, I do take last minute sessions when my schedule allows so feel free to reach out! For scheduling, baby will do best for their session when they are between 5-20 days old, at their sleepiest. Newborns can still come in past this age range, they just may be more awake during their session.

FAQ
When should I book my newborn session?
A. I recommend booking your newborn session around the 6-month mark of pregnancy, and no later than 8 months along. This allows plenty of time to choose the perfect theme and secure a spot on my calendar. That said, I understand that life happens—and sometimes plans are made last minute. You're always welcome to reach out at any time! Please note that I typically book 1–2 months in advance, so availability may be limited for last-minute requests.
What if baby comes early or late?
A. If baby arrives earlier than expected, don’t worry—once your doctor gives the okay for your little one to safely leave the hospital, I’ll get you on my schedule. It doesn’t matter how long your NICU stay is; I’ll make sure we reserve a spot as soon as baby is ready. If baby comes a little later than planned, that’s no problem either—I’ll still schedule your session within 5 to 30 days after birth to capture those sweet, fresh newborn moments.
Can parents/siblings be included?
A. Absolutely! I offer packages that include both parent, sibling and family images. Grandparents can also be included if you'd like, just send me a message with a detailed inquiry.
How old should my baby be for their session?
A. Most sessions take place within the first 5–30 days after birth for those sleepy, curled-up poses, but I’m more than happy to accommodate older newborns too.
What if my baby doesn’t cooperate during the session?
A. Newborns run the show! I work entirely on baby’s time, taking breaks as needed to keep everyone calm and comfortable.
What should we bring to the session?
A. You need to bring in babies feeding/ changing items. That's it! I provide all wraps, props, attire, accessories and setups. If you have a special item you'd like to include, let me know firs then bring it along.
When will we receive our images?
A. You'll get a sneak peek within 48 hours, and your final gallery will be ready 3–4 weeks after your session.
Where are you located? Do you have a studio?
A. I am based in Lexington, Kentucky, where I operate out of my own private studio space—designed to provide a calm, comfortable, and fully equipped environment for your session.
