Meet baby boy Amias! At just 4 weeks old, he came into my Lexington, KY studio for his newborn photography session, and he absolutely stole the show. From the very beginning, he was the perfect little sleeper, allowing me to capture those sweet, timeless newborn poses that families love.
When babies sleep soundly, it’s the perfect chance to photograph all those tiny details—the curled fingers, tiny toes, and the way they fit so perfectly in soft wraps. Amias looked so peaceful and cozy, and those sleepy portraits will be such a treasure for his family to look back on as he grows.
The beginning of his session was filled with dreamy, calm moments. We used soft tones and gentle setups that highlighted his little features and showed just how small he still is at only 4 weeks old. There’s nothing more precious than capturing those fleeting newborn details before they disappear.
But as the session went on, Amias decided it was time to wake up and join the fun! He opened his bright little eyes and instantly became so curious about everything around him. Instead of fussing, he locked onto the camera, almost as if he already knew he was the star of the day.
These awake moments are some of my absolute favorites to capture. They show so much personality, even in such a tiny baby. Amias stretched, wiggled, and gave me the most expressive looks—each one making his gallery unique and full of variety. Parents often love having both sleepy, snuggly poses and wide-awake, curious shots in their newborn session. Amias gave us the perfect mix of both.
