Welcoming sweet baby Kyson into my Lexington, KY studio was truly a highlight of my week. At just 8 days old, he arrived sleepy, cozy, and ready for his first big photoshoot. Newborn sessions can sometimes take a little extra patience, but Kyson made everything feel effortless. He slept soundly the entire time, allowing me to pose him gently and move through each setup with ease. Babies this tiny often have their own agenda, but he was truly a dream baby to work with.
Because he did so well, we were even able to fit in an extra pose—something I don’t always get to do, but absolutely love when the opportunity comes. His soft little features, tiny fingers, and peaceful expressions made every shot so special. Capturing these moments reminded me once again why newborn photography is one of the most meaningful sessions a family can invest in. Those first days go by incredibly fast, and before you know it, your little one is already changing.
Newborns stay in this curled, tiny stage for such a short amount of time—usually just a few weeks. That’s why photographing them early is so important. You can never go back and recreate those first precious details: the flaky skin, the sleepy smiles, the way they naturally curl into your hands.
